Fairbank Farms Beef Recall
November 1st, 2009Food safety is a top priority at Food Lion LLC. Fairbank Farms notified Food Lion LLC this afternoon that our company received a portion of fresh ground beef products that are part of Fairbank Farms’ national product recall. The recall is isolated to 93/7 ground beef purchased at Food Lion, Bloom or Bottom Dollar Food in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. In an abundance of caution, any customer who purchased 93/7 ground beef at Food Lion, Bloom or Bottom Dollar Food with the sell by date of Sept. 21 through Oct. 8 should return the meat to the store for a full refund.
Solar Farms Alfalfa Sprouts 4 oz.
July 15, 2009In connection with a voluntary recall by Solar Farms Inc., Food Lion is advising consumers to check their refrigerators for any alfalfa sprouts produced by Solar Farms Inc., one of our suppliers. Food Lion LLC was notified today that Solar Farms is recalling the 4 oz containers of alfalfa sprouts with a sell by date of July 22, 2009 because of a potential contamination of Listera. In an abundance of caution, Food Lion, LLC is removing all Solar Farm Alfalfa Sprouts from the store shelves and is also recalling all lot numbers of Solar Farms Alfalfa Sprouts in the 4 oz. containers that consumers may have purchased at Food Lion, Bloom and Reid?s.
All customers are encouraged to return this product produced by Solar Farm to their nearest store for a full refund.
Food Lion Instant Nonfat Dry Milk
July 1, 2009Food Lion, Bottom Dollar Food, Harveys and Reids have pulled the following powdered milk product from the store shelves due to a manufacturers recall. The manufacturer has recalled this product due to possible salmonella contamination.

June 30, 2009Due to a voluntary recall by JBS Swift Beef Company, Food Lion LLC is asking customers who purchased the following products between April 27, 2009 and June 30, 2009 at the stores below to return these items for a full refund.

Nestle Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough products
June 19, 2009Food Lion, Harveys, Reids, Bottom Dollar Food, and Bloom stores have pulled the following Nestle Toll House Refrigerated Cookie Dough products from the store shelves due to a manufacturers recall. The Food and Drug Administration (F.D.A.) and Centers for Disease Control (C.D.C.) are currently investigating Nestlé TOLL HOUSE® Refrigerated Cookie Dough in response to consumer illness complaints which may be linked to the consumption of the product in raw, uncooked form. This is a Class 1 recall.
