With 100% of the funds remaining in your local area, the Children's Hospital can now purchase state-of-the art equipment and offer services that might not otherwise be possible.

• Provide $2.5 billion in charity (uncompensated) care a year
• Treat 98% of all children needing heart and lung transplants
• Treat 88% of all children with cancer
• Treat 76% of all children with cystic fibrosis
• Treat 90% of children with sickle cell anemia
• Treat 72% of children with pediatric AIDS
• Devote 60% of services to children under age 6 and 25% to newborns
• Train 60% of pediatricians and 80% of all pediatric specialists

About "Food Lion...For the Children" campaign

Our annual "Food Lion ... for the Children" campaign raises money for local Children's Miracle Network hospitals through customers' purchase of paper CMN balloons. In addition, our Food Lion associates raise money throughout the year through dress casual days as well as by sponsoring car shows, golf tournaments, bake sales and customer appreciation days. Since 1991, Food Lion, our associates and customers have raised approximately $30 million for Children's Miracle Network with 100% of the proceeds staying in our local communities. Children's Miracle Network Hospitals help kids of all ages and backgrounds overcome every imaginable disease and injury, from asthma and broken bones to cancer, sickle cell anemia, pediatric AIDS and other serious injuries.
