Your neighborhood Food Lion gladly accepts Flexible Spending Account / Healthcare Reimbursement Account (FSA/HRA) cards for the purchase of various healthcare and pharmacy items. You now have the convenience of using your FSA/HRA card in all Food Lion Stores and at every register.
All healthcare items that are approved under the FSA/HRA program will be identified on the item’s shelf tag. Just look for the FSA Logo!
Additionally, on your register receipt, FSA-eligible items will be identified with *FSA, so that you can tell which items are covered.

1. What is FSA or HRA?
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) a tax-favored program offered by employers that allows their employees to pay for qualified healthcare products and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars. An FSA/HRA gives you an immediate discount on these expenses that equals the taxes you would otherwise pay on that money.
In other words, when using FSA/HRA, you can both reduce your taxes and get more for your money by saving from 20% to more than 40% you would normally pay for out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses with after-tax (as opposed to taxed) dollars.
2. What items are FSA-approved?
New IRS regulations have identified those products which can be purchased using your Flexible Spending Account. Following are certain categories of products that may qualify. An FSA logo will be on the shelf-tags for all FSA-approved items.
4. How will FSA-approved items be identified on the receipt?
These items will be identified by having *FSA beside the product description. If the FSA/HRA card is used as the payment type for the FSA products, the FSA total will be identified at the bottom of the receipt.
5. Can I use my FSA card at any register?
Yes, FSA/HRA cards are accepted at all lanes including self-checkout lanes.
6. What if I pay out of pocket?
You may be able to submit your receipt for reimbursement from your FSA/HRA account. Please check with your healthcare provider or card issuer for more information.
