Rob shared his idea with fellow Maverick Jim Bouton, who eventually found a company that knew how to make shredded gum. The rest, as they say, is history. Today, over 40 years and 800 million pouches later, Big League Chew is the only bubble gum ever honored by being exhibited at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. It's an improbable saga: A Minor League lefty with just one professional win to his name (in three seasons!) ends up blowing Big League Bubbles at the steps of the Hall of Fame alongside the iconic greats of the game. For those of us who love baseball, it just doesn't get better than that.
