Rinse split red lentils well before cooking. Close Pan Cooking: 1. Add 1 cup split red lentils, 3 cups water, and 1 tsp salt (optional) to a large pot. 2. Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. 3. Cover and cook until they reach desired texture (10-15 minutes). Stove Top Pressure Cooker: 1. Add 1 cup split red lentlis and 2-2 1/2 cups of water to the pressure cooker. 2. Pressure cook on high for 5-10 minutes (2 whistles). 3. Allow to naturally release for 5 minutes then released any remaining pressure.
